Draft Tech Fest Program
Considerations:
Start 9:00 finish by 3.25
Afternoon or early sessions for parents
Mixtures of whole school, mandatory and sign up sessions
Matching individual needs with presentations and workshops
Ensure that the Tech Fest is not just a Talk Fest but that clearly defined objectives in terms of tech are achieved:
all students will have accounts with the web applications identified as relevant to teaching and learning at CA
all students will have working knowledge of these applications
all students understand acceptable use policies especially in terms of how they use their laptop in the classroom
1. Whole School Theater
Welcome by Headmaster and Principal (3-5 minutes)
Guest Speaker (In person and via skype) (30 minutes)
2. Presentations for Grades 9-12 Mandatory (Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced) (30-40 minutes) Through Goggle Forms
Start with Technology Director outline the Big Four: Final Site, Powerschool, Gmail, AUP at the beginning of the first session
Google Docs/Sites (1 hour)
Blogs (1 hour)
VoiceThread (1 hour)
Prize for the most inspiring content produced ipad prize time for students to work on it
3. Sign up Workshops 2 X 1 hour sessions) Through Google Forms
